Reaching a goal slowly, that’s what you will treasure. Getting a goal right away… that’s a different story.
It’s like when a spoiled kid gets all the things they want, they don’t appreciate it. They don’t treasure it and protect it with everything they’ve got. But someone who works hard for what they receive.. that’s the person who will do anything they can to protect it. So same with a goal, after you have completed it you will never go back. As in, I will learn how to become independent and it will take a while but I will treasure the path I took and I will never travel back up the path because I would have come so far. And I plan to read this later on. And I know I will be so proud of myself, and after that, I will never put myself in a situation that forces me to go down that path again.
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

Hershey’s chocolate bar, I will accept you for not being peanut butter.
I cannot change the world around me. I can’t change people around me. But I can change me. And I can learn to love myself. And I will not settle for less than I deserve.
Nothing is impossible.
Once you say “I can’t” you’ve already defeated yourself.
